Born from my passion for Shakespeare's work I decided to create a book which contained all of his sonnets. As a creator I aimed for an object that combined the beauty of the minimalistic appeal that's linked to high design with the world of illustration. For that purpose I worked with a three colour scheme, excluding black and white, and a solid lineart.
In a month, I made one illustration for each sonnet, expressing its essence or highlighting an important verse. Also, I decided that in order to add quality to the project it should be a hardcover book, handbound with different fabrics, one for the spine and another one for the cover, that fitted the clour palette.
I learnt how to do bind myself and using University's equipment this book came alive. A book over 300 pages, hand sewn and bound with traditional processes.
